The Pleasure Centre is a multi-disciplinary mental health service that offers confidential counselling, education, and support with one of our certified practitioners.

Our therapists all have post-graduate training in sexology, and degrees in mental health. They engage in continuing professional development consistently up-skilling in areas of sex, sexuality, relationships, and intimacy to maintain best professional practice.

We currently offer Telehealth (online) sessions, and in-person sessions in Surry Hills, Sydney.

This is a LGBTQIA+ friendly and informed service.

Our therapy services

  • Sex therapy is a form of talk therapy. This is a specialty service, meaning our practitioners are trained to offer non-judgmental, and empathetic support when discussing sex, and relationships.

    Common issues addressed include:

    • Changes in Desire

    • Desire Discrepancy between partners

    • Challenges with Orgasm

    • Sexual Pain

    • Erection issues

    • Premature or Delayed Ejaculation

    • Porn Use

    • Performance Anxiety

    • Understanding/Learning Sexual Preferences

    • Sexual Communication

    • Sexuality, Sexual Orientation

    • Gender Identity

    • Kinks and BDSM

    • Dating & Casual Sex

    • Setting Sexual Boundaries

  • Relationship therapy offers support around maintaining romantic relationships. In this space a therapist will offer education, skill building, and accountability to equip partners with the skills to sustain their relationships.

    Common relationship issues addressed include:

    • Communication Skills

    • Conflict Resolution

    • Infidelity

    • Sexual Intimacy

    • Desire Discrepancy

    • Sexual Dissatisfaction

    • Non-Monogamy

    • Open Relationships

  • Body Image is a common concern, and often affects sex, intimacy, and relationships.

    Aleks, (our Director), has speciality training and 5 years of experience working with body image.

    Common concerns include:

    • Body Image concerns causing psychological distress

    • Distressing relationship to food, and exercise

    • Fixation on weight and shape

    • Avoidance of sex and intimacy

  • Aleks (our Director) is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an evidence-based trauma therapy approach.

    EMDR can be used for:

    • Distressing memories

    • Flashbacks

    • PTSD

    • Negative self-beliefs

    • Somatic symptoms (body remembering trauma despite it being over)

  • Our certified Mental Health Practitioners can offer general mental health support. However, we do not offer sessions under Medicare.

    We draw from evidence based therapeutic approaches such as:

    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

    • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

    • Person Centred Therapy

    Some clients are entitled to rebates with private health funds for all therapy services, including:

    • BUPA

    • AHM

    • HCF

    • Australian Regional Health Group (ARHG)

    • Medibank Private.
